Manchester Royal Infirmary is part of Manchester Foundation Trust and is seeking to appoint a committed and compassionate radiographer to join our busy CT Team.

We are a Major Trauma Centre for all penetrating and blunt chest and abdominal trauma within the Manchester area. Manchester Royal Infirmary is also a tertiary referral centre for HPB and Vascular specialties and we also have a wide range of other specialties on site allowing you to gain experience in an extensive range of CT examinations.

The department currently has 2 CT Scanners a Philips 128 Ingenuity and a GE Optima 660 which are due for replacement imminently. A 3rd CT scanner is anticipated and will be situated within Resus of the Emergency Department.

We are committed to CPD and a number of the CT staff have already obtained the Post Graduate Certificate in CT. Two Radiographers have recently completed a PGD in CT Head interpretation and are now independently reporting CT Head examinations.

The role will involve providing a first class imaging service to all our patients. You will be required to act on your own initiative, using a wide range of professional skills, whilst performing routine and complex procedures, sometimes without direct supervision.

We currently work 12 hour days over an 8 week period typically this would involve 2 weekend duties in this current format. The nights are covered by Trauma Radiographers but it is anticipated that there may be some night duties involved with this role as well.

To complete training and competency in all aspects of CT Role at the Manchester Royal Infirmary and contribute to the Shift pattern rota.

To be responsible for the operational delivery of a high quality, safe and
efficient CT imaging service.

To provide supervision and training for Assistant
Practitioners, Radiographic helpers and Student Radiographers.
