Crynodeb
To competently deliver clinical care, according to guidelines and protocols, to enable patients to safely progress through the inpatient pathway.
To effectively deliver delegated care, some of which would have previously been in the domain of registered professionals, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
Work under the supervision of a registered nurse implementing plans of care to ensure that patient’s physical, social and psychological needs are met.Ensure privacy and dignity of patients is maintained at all times.
Contribute to Productive Ward initiative.
Minimise risk of harm to patients, staff and visitors by working according to riskmanagement policies.
To undertake clinical skills, ensuring procedures are explained to patients in order to gain informed consent and involvement in care decisions, including:oAssist with admission and discharge procedures including the correct handling of patient’s property

• Maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform your role effectively and ensure evidence of competence is provided to line manager
• Recognise own limitations and seek advice when appropriate, identifying own learning needs to discuss with line manager / appraiser.
• Participate in an annual appraisal with relevant reviews and to follow your personal development plan as agreed with your line manager.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy environment at all times
• Report any concerns or problems to line manager
• Undertake all mandatory training
• Participate in ward meetings and be involved in the decision making process when changes take place.
