Summary

Make a Real Difference - Join Us as a Support Worker in RG40

Location: RG40, Wokingham (Just a 15 min walk from Wokingham Station)
Pay Rate: £12.35 per hour + £50 per sleep-in shift
Hours: 30 hours per week
Shift Pattern:

- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM the following day (includes sleep-in)

- Sleep-In Hours: 9:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Driver Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence (Auto-friendly)

Are You the Right Match?

We're looking for a confident, experienced Support Worker who's ready to work independently and build a meaningful relationship with a young gentleman in his 30s. If you're friendly, organised, and have a great sense of humour, this could be the perfect role for you.

Who Will You Be Supporting?

You'll be supporting a young man with complex learning disabilities and epilepsy (Buccal medication required). He does not communicate with words, but he's expressive, smiley, and enjoys engaging with people who bring warmth and positivity.

His Interests Include:

- Swimming

- Listening to all kinds of music

- Comedy shows and movies

- Church on Sundays

- Coffee mornings on Fridays

He leads a busy and fulfilling life, and your support will help him continue to enjoy the things he loves.

What Will You Be Doing?

This is a 1:1 lone-working role, so confidence and competence are key. You'll be:

- Providing personal care and using hoists

- Supporting a wheelchair user with mobility and comfort

- Preparing meals and administering medication (including Buccal)

- Ensuring safety and wellbeing throughout the day and night

- Building a strong, trusting relationship with him and his family

- Supporting his routines and helping him engage in his favourite activities

Essential Qualities:

- Experienced in health and social care, especially in lone-working roles

- Friendly, approachable, and outgoing

- Organised and reliable

- Able to bring good humour and positivity to each day

- Comfortable with personal care and using hoists

- Confident in administering medication (training provided)

- Auto-friendly driver
