An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Mental Health Team at HMP Birmingham as a Band 4 Team Administrator/Medical Secretary. (10 hours per week/job share). We are looking for an enthusiastic and self motivated candidate to join our hardworking, but friendly team.
You will receive an environmental allowance of £1572 per annum (pro rata) for working in a secure environment, access to excellent support and development opportunities, and will be part of dynamically evolving service.
The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, requiring proficiency in word processing, medical audio transcription, minute-taking, effective communication, and strong organisational skills.
The post holder will hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Amspar Diploma is desirable.
The post holder will deliver a high-quality, efficient, and professional secretarial and administrative service to the Mental Health Team within the Healthcare Department at HMP Birmingham.
Key duties include managing incoming correspondence, coordinating and attending meetings, including weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, and supporting general administrative functions.
The post holder will serve as a central point of contact for the Service Manager, Consultants, and the wider clinical team. Ensuring the timely and accurate dissemination of information, messages, and enquiries. They will liaise effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues, healthcare professionals, prison staff, GPs, social workers, service users, carers, and relevant external agencies.
