Summary
We are looking for a suitably qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly community based SLT team. You will be offered professional leadership; support from our Assistant; a robust induction; preceptorship if newly qualified; personal development plan identifying CPD needs; part of a wider SLT and AHP network with opportunities to join clinical network and research forums.
We are looking for a flexible and self-motivated individual to work alongside our team, which is comprised of a Band 7 Clinical Lead, Band 6 Specialist SLT and a Band 4 Assistant.
You will be highly motivated and a conscientious team player with excellent communication and analytical skills gained through previous experience. You will have the opportunity to manage patients with progressive neurological conditions such as Parkinsons, MS, Huntingtons and Dementia amongst other neurological conditions.
- To manage a defined caseload under indirect supervision using evidence based principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
- To deliver the service in an appropriate environment, e.g. patient homes, day centres, work places, clinics, residential homes.
- To maintain clinical records in line with policy.
- To participate in and initiate continued professional development activities.
- To work as an effective team member.
- To carry out other specific delegated tasks to support the delivery of the Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy service.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
