The Maritime and Coastguard Agency’s (MCA) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Information Technology (IT) Directorate which drives the delivery of world-class digital services that support maritime safety and regulation. Within this, the IT Delivery Management function oversees portfolios, programmes, and projects to ensure strategic alignment and value for money. The Business Analysis team plays a vital role in shaping these outcomes, providing analytical expertise to understand business needs, define requirements, and support decision-making. As part of a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, the team works closely with stakeholders to design solutions that meet user and organisational goals.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll lead the analysis of complex digital and business change projects across the MCA. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand needs, define requirements, and shape services that deliver real impact. Using analytical tools, you’ll drive improvements, support strategic decision-making, and ensure solutions align with user and organisational goals.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

Leading complex business analysis projects across digital and operational domainsBuilding strong stakeholder relationships to understand and shape business needsTranslating user and business requirements into actionable insightsIdentifying opportunities for process and service improvementsDefining success measures to assess the benefits of changeSupporting prioritisation and Minimum Viable Product (MVP) decisions using data-driven analysisMentoring junior analysts and share best practices across the team
