An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our successful, dynamic and supportive nursery within Bankton Primary School. The school is a non-denominational primary with 14 classes and an early learning centre. Bankton ELC provides Early Learning and Childcare to Dedridge, Adambrae, Brotherton and the surrounding area. We are a 50 week facility and provide a mixture of full day and half day places and staff work flexibility across the opening hours. As a member of the team you will work to support the provision of a high quality learning environment for all children promoting challenge, curiosity and creativity.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual to join our ELC team to cover a maternity leave. Under the Early Years Officer’s direction you work within our ELC to support children, facilitate snack and meal times, organise resources and carry out duties relating to pupil pastoral support.

They will promote an ethos of achievement through the development of positive relationships and will have due regard for the health and safety of the young people they are working with.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
