As an Electronics Engineer at Unipart, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of cutting-edge railway
signalling products. Your responsibilities will include designing and innovating new electronic signalling solutions, where your
creativity and technical expertise will be crucial in bringing these innovations to life. You will engage in the prototyping and
testing phases, working closely with senior engineers to refine and optimise designs, ensuring safety critical product reliability
and performance.
In addition to product development, you will be involved in project management activities, assisting in planning and managing
project timelines to ensure that milestones are achieved, and projects are delivered on schedule. Collaboration with
cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, will be essential for seamless
project execution.
Your role will also encompass supporting the manufacturing team by identifying and implementing process build improvements to
enhance efficiency and product quality. You will provide technical assistance to resolve any issues that arise during the
manufacturing process, ensuring smooth production flow.
In the realm of procurement and supply chain management, you will coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely
procurement of components and materials and assist in managing prototyping.
Customer support will be another key aspect of your role. You will address customer inquiries and provide technical support where
applicable to product orders and specifications.

Essential criteria:
* Degree (or equivalent qualification) in the field of Electronics Engineering
* 3+ years design experience in full lifecycle projects
* Experience of PCB design and best practices for PCB layout
* Experience in analogue and digital electronic design
* Experience in the product design lifecycle – from concept to introduction into manufacturing (ideally in a safety-critical
industry)
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent team player
Desirable criteria:
* Experience/knowledge of rail industry standards
* Product safety knowledge EN 50128 and EN 50129 (or equivalent standards)
* Switch Mode Power Supply Design
* Design for EMC requirements
* Experience with embedded software (PIC and C)
* Project Management Experience
* Experience in product safety analysis to SIL 3+ or equivalent
* Experience in design techniques such as Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Reliability (PFMEA, RAMS, Gauge R&R)
