Kisharon Langdon UK has an exciting opportunity for a good communicator to join their dedicated fundraising team in Colindale, North West London.

Who we are

Kisharon Langdon provides a wide range of services to support individuals with a learning disability and autistic people, and their families. From nursery and school to further education, through to employment opportunities and supported living, we enable our beneficiaries to thrive and realise their ambitions.

Whilst we support the Jewish community, we celebrate and benefit from the diversity of the communities in which we are based and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.

The Role

The Major Donor Officer plays a vital role in generating voluntary income for Kisharon Langdon by managing their own portfolio of high net-worth donors and prospects to meet income targets. The job involves getting to know the portfolio and developing appropriate strategies to cultivate, solicit and steward donors, while also working to build a pipeline of new prospects. The post-holder will network internally and externally to seek support with their work and use the database to record activity and monitor performance against objectives set within the context of fundraising and organisational strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of high net-worth individuals, familiarising yourself with each of them, and then developing plans and strategies for engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Implement those plans by proactively engaging with each donor and – ultimately – asking for (and securing) major donations of £5,000 or more, either personally, or through a Lay Canvasser.
Build relationships with donors to understand their communication preferences and interact with them effectively in a way they welcome and appreciate.
Maintain a proactive, inquisitive approach to finding new donors by looking at the database, networking internally and externally, and generally staying informed about people in and around the Jewish philanthropic community.
Network and collaborate both internally and externally, with colleagues, volunteers, senior leaders and other relevant stakeholders to gather input and support with the donor journey.
Use the Raiser’s Edge database as a tool to find and research new donors, monitor performance and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.

About You

Experience of generating and / or securing income to meet some kind of financial target in a commercial or fundraising role.
A confident communicator, able to build relationships externally and internally to achieve a positive outcome.
Comfortable interacting with high net-worth individuals and asking for major gifts.
Able to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

What we offer

21 days holiday which increases with length of service, plus bank holidays and Major Jewish holidays
Pension scheme - (NatWest Cushion)
Blue light card - access to more than 15,000 discounts from large national & local retailers
