Summary

Join Our Highways Team as a Service Delivery ManagerWe're looking for an experienced Service Delivery Manager to join our Highways team based in Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham. In this key role, you'll lead the strategic direction and day-to-day delivery of highways operations. Working closely with Birmingham Highways Limited (BHL), Birmingham City Council (BCC), supply chain partners, and stakeholders, you'll ensure effective stewardship of the network in line with client policies and requirements.

Location: Thimble Mill Lane, Birmingham - travel to the office required with some remote working available

Hours: Permanent, Fulltime 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 per year + bonus + private healthcare + £7,350 annual car allowance + benefits

What will you be responsible for?

As a Service Delivery Manager, you'll collaborate across teams to ensure smooth and effective operations, particularly for winter services and emergency response. You'll take ownership of delivering routine, cyclical, and capital maintenance, as well as resilience works making sure projects are completed safely to a high standard, on time and within budget.

Your day to day will include:

-Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to develop robust safe systems of work and oversee the effective deployment of operatives and contractors ensuring that safety remains the top priority in all operations, always safeguarding both the workforce and network users

-Manage and be responsible for planning and organising all operational activities on the network

-Build and maintain strong relationships with our customers, particularly the BCC Contract Team to fully understand their needs and ensure objectives are aligned through collaborative and transparent working

-Ensure that processes, procedures, plans and systems are uniform across Birmingham

-Develop the commercial culture to achieve the successful delivery and profitability of the contract



What are we looking for?

This role of Service Delivery Manager is great if you have:

-Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role

-Strong understanding of business operations and financial principles

-Excellent leadership and management skills
