Veterinary Surgeon – Exciting Role at a Growing Independent Hospital

Staffordshire | Market Leading salary and package up to £80,000 DOE

Why you’ll love this role:

• Independent, forward-thinking hospital – not corporate
• Brand-new, purpose-built facilities opening this autumn
• On-site Rehab Centre with hydrotherapy and physiotherapy
• Peaceful countryside location with a friendly, supportive team
• Uncapped CPD budget and full support for certificates

A rare opportunity has opened up for a passionate veterinary surgeon to join a thriving independent small animal hospital set in the stunning Staffordshire Moorlands. This practice is led by experienced vets who truly care about their team and their patients, and it shows in everything they do.

With the opening of a brand-new hospital and rehabilitation centre, this is a chance to be part of something exciting and to help shape the next chapter of a growing, forward-thinking team. The facilities include two state-of-the-art theatres, a dedicated dental suite, and a full imaging suite with DR X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, and endoscopy, allowing most cases to be managed in-house.

In line with their Fear-Free accreditation, the hospital has separate cat and dog wards, outdoor space for patients and staff to enjoy, and a calm, welcoming environment that makes it a pleasure to work in. The adjoining Rehab Centre features an underwater treadmill, hydrotherapy, and physiotherapy, providing pets with outstanding recovery and mobility support.

You’ll be joining a close-knit, supportive team that values collaboration and encourages you to follow your interests. Whether you’re looking to refine your surgical skills, work towards a certificate, or explore a particular area of medicine, you’ll have the freedom and guidance to make it happen.

The role offers a 4-day week (8.30–6.30) with a night team in place, there is no OOH. Only 1 in 4/5 weekends currently (Weekend shifts are 8am-8pm Saturday and Sunday) When you have worked the weekend you then work only 16 hours the following week.

Surrounded by rolling countryside, farm cafés, and walking trails, the practice offers a truly lovely work-life balance, with Manchester, Birmingham, and Liverpool all within easy reach.

What’s on offer:

• Competitive salary: £40,000–£80,000 (DOE)
• 6 weeks’ holiday (including bank holidays)
• Uncapped CPD budget – certificates fully funded
• RCVS, VDS & BVA/BSAVA fees paid
• Bupa private healthcare
• Supportive, social team that genuinely enjoys working together

If you’re looking for a role where you’ll be valued, supported, and inspired, where you can be part of a team building something special, this could be your perfect next step.
