An opportunity has become available to join the Lung Cancer Screening Programme at Northumbria Healthcare as a Waiting List and Appointments Coordinator. The Lung Cancer Screening Programme is a is a national scheme that identifies people aged 55-74 at increased risk of lung cancer, to improve detection and subsequently treatment outcomes for patients. The job entails a range of duties to ensure an accurate and efficient waiting list and bookings service is available to the Lung Cancer Screening Programme and to act as a first point of contact for the Programme Team. The post holder will co-ordinate all patient appointments and enquiries using initiative to discern between queries ensuring minimum interruption to the programme or immediate response depending upon appropriate action.

*To undertake a range of duties to ensure an accurate and efficient waiting list and bookings service is available to the Lung Cancer Screening Programme.
*To act as a first point of contact for the Programme Team and co-ordinate all patient appointments and enquiries using initiative to discern between queries ensuring minimum interruption to the programme or immediate response depending upon appropriate action.
*To be involved in the achievement of all NHS Waiting Time targets including but not exclusive to Screening Scheduling, Cancer Waits and Diagnostics
*The post holder will be expected to work Trust wide.
*To participate in all aspects of the administration service within the Lung Cancer Screening Programme.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England.
