Summary
Applications are invited for a substantive full-time (1.0 WTE) interventional radiology (IR) Consultant.
The appointment offers an opportunity to strengthen an established team which will consist of sixteen interventional radiologists.
The post holder will be working across all three Imperial sites.
All consultants have a combination of fixed and flexible sessions to allow for robust coverage of all IR sessions across the Trust.
The successful candidate will have completed formal training in diagnostic and interventional radiology (IR). The successful candidate will require experience in Gastro-intestinal, HPB and urological interventions. An interest in HPB intervention would be desirable but is not essential. The candidate should also be able to perform a wide range endovascular procedures including peripheral arterial and venous interventions and endovascular aortic repair to support the current service demand at St Mary’s Hospital.
The applicants must hold their CCT in Radiology and be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of being granted a CCT.
Interviews will take place Thursday 27thNovember in person.
The post will allow for improved IR resilience across all 3 sites which will enhance service delivery and thereby reduce waiting times whilst allowing for the successful candidate to develop their own specialist interests.
The post will be across all three Imperial sites with a combination of fixed sessions and flexible sessions.
The post holder will also be required to join an on-call rota for out of hours emergencies currently 1 in 8.
Assistance to the overall radiology team in the delivery of the cross-site “duty” rota which is in place to support rapid IP/ED reporting performance and trainee supervision.
The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to training and research, as well as to work with the Divisional team to help manage the service.

Full time contract (Total of 10 PAs of activity) to comprise the following:
Clinical Activities: 8 PAs per week (including clinical activity, clinically related activity, predictable and unpredictable emergency work)
Supporting Professional Activities: 2 PAs per week. One Revalidation SPA (including audit, clinical governance, CPD, teaching, research). 0.75 SPA for additional activities, 0.25 for educational supervisor roles (EPA)
On-call: An additional 2PAs for on-call.
The applicant will have experience in some or all of the following techniques:
Non-vascular: Gastro-intestinal, HPB and urological interventions.
Vascular: aortic and peripheral, reno-vascular interventions including dialysis access
The candidate will require experience in embolisation to support the on-call service (e.g. uterine artery embolisation for post-partum haemorrhage, GI bleeding, trauma embolisation etc.).
An interest in HPB intervention would be desirable but not essential.
An interest in training and research is strongly encouraged in accordance with the strategic aims of the Academic Health Sciences Centre.
