A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust covers a large geographic area which encompasses the Furness peninsula, the city of Lancaster and the Lake District. Clinical investigation Services are provided on three sites, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Furness General Hospital and Westmorland General Hospital. The post will be on the Royal Lancaster Infirmary site.
An opportunity has arisen to join a friendly, committed team in clinical Investigations. We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic individual.
As lead specialist the post holder will be responsible for ensuring a
quality management system is available and managed to ensure a
Community diagnostic and physiological sciences service is
delivered to the Trust and other users of the service.
To assist/support the service in the development and monitoring of
robust systems for clinical governance to improve patient care in
line with Department of Health, National/International Standards,
Trust policies and procedures and local action frameworks.
To provide visible leadership, Quality and Governance, Advice and
Guidance and support departments across Community Diagnostic
and Physiological Science services.
Monitor and report activities and performance via key performance
indicators at the Community Diagnostic Quality Meetings,
Community Diagnostics management team meetings and Core
Clinical Services Care Group Heads of Service.
To work effectively and efficiently as part of the Clinical Investigations team in providing a high quality service, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.
The post holder is responsible for developing, managing,
supporting and monitoring the quality management system, quality
schemes and initiatives for all services within the Community
Diagnostic service. The post holder provides specialist support and
monitors conformity to quality standards and accreditation
schemes, e.g. United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS),
Medical Health Regulation Agency (MHRA), Human Tissues
Authority (HTA) Public Health England (PHE) The Health and
Safety Executive (HSE) etc. and ensures that the agreed
guidelines and protocols are followed.
The post holder will attend and report quality and governance
information for the Community Diagnostic service at the Heads of
Service.
The post holder is responsible for developing and coordinating the
delivery of training and education of all staff within CDC and
Physiological Sciences in all elements of quality management and
the quality management system.
We operate from three main hospitals - FGH, RLI and WGH, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom, GP practices and QVC and Ulverston Health Centre.
FGH and RLI have a range of general hospital services with Emergency care and critical./ coronary units and various Consultant led services.
WGH provides a range of general hospital service, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostic, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In additional, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in peoples homes, community centres, clinics, GP practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
