The South West Fetal Medicine Operational Delivery Network (ODN) has an exciting opportunity for aLead Manager (Development Post – Maternity Cover)to join our dynamic regional team. This fixed-term role offers the chance to lead and coordinate the development of fetal medicine services across the South West, supporting improvements in clinical pathways, workforce planning, and quality of care for families receiving specialist fetal medicine services.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality, equitable fetal medicine care across the region. You will work closely with the ODN Clinical Lead, NHS England, and provider Trusts to implement strategic priorities, support data-driven improvement, and enhance workforce capability.

• Lead and develop services within the Southwest FMU Network (as defined by NICE) to ensure excellent, evidence based care.
• Contribute to the structure of local and regional guidelines, policies/protocols and data collection.
• Work collaboratively with key Fetal Medicine Unit leads and senior management teams.
• Support the development, delivery and implementation of profession specific Network wide projects
• Contribute to updating and continuing professional development (CPD) for all midwives, obstetricians and other colleagues in the network.
• To maintain an active role in discipline specific national FMU interest groups
• To be a proactive member of the Operational Delivery Network multidisciplinary team on both a strategic and operational level.
• To identify and form strategic links with key organisations and stakeholders relevant to the delivery of fetal medicine services.
• To act as a contact and clinical point of reference for relevant national bodies and organisations seeking expert comment on topics relating to Fetal Medicine services.
• To coordinate/support FMU network involvement in research and audit.
• Support the ODN in the management of the financial budget ensuring cost effective use of resources.
• Plays a key and active role at ODN level, providing regular reports and updates to Boards and within Network Teams on agreed priorities and remit of the role.
