CX719 Personal Assistant for a young man who is easy going and a joy to be around, 6 to 12hrs pw HU9
A Personal Assistant (PA) is required to support an 18year old young man to access social and leisure activities within the community.
He is easy going, cheeky and a joy to be around, he doesn’t have tantrums but when he doesn’t like something, he will let you know with a sign for no and a shake of the head. He enjoys spending time doing a variety of activities and is fun to spend time with. He is also a very affectionate boy who cares greatly for others and enjoys seeing other people happy and is always quick to offer a cuddle and a smile (he has the greatest infectious smile) when he thinks you need it.
He is a very happy young man, he enjoys having a laugh and joke and likes to have a bit of teasing banter like who will win at bowling. He is typical young man who enjoys music (particularly Hits Radio East Yorkshire) and his gaming on the PlayStation 5. He also enjoys watching sport (almost anything competitive) as well as game shows. He also enjoys walks, the beach and going out bowling or cinema. He loves to get involved, but at times may watch for a bit before joining in if it’s something new.
He enjoys going to the pub for a lunch especially if there is sport playing on a TV.
He has a very limited view of danger and limited balance so the successful candidate will need to ensure he is kept safe when out in the community and will need to support him when crossing the road or going up a ramp or steps. His parents assist with most personal care tasks, but he will need support to use the toilet when out in the community particularly transferring.
A car driver would be preferred, but having the right personality, being relaxed, patient and easy to get along with is much more important. Fixed milage payments per weekly for term time and holidays.
The successful applicant will be employed subject to a DBS check.
Important Information: “Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory checking report from the Disclosure and Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by the local authority/employer.”
