An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the current post holder being promoted to a secondment.

The Personalised Care and Support Lead for Cancer plays a vital role in ensuring care provided to people diagnosed with cancer meets their individual needs.

You’ll oversee a programme of work which supports 12 cancer speciality teams to deliver our organisations' Personalised Care and Support strategy, which reflects the SWAG Cancer Alliance Personalised Care and Support Strategy and ambitions for cancer outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan. A new national Cancer Plan is due to be launched imminently, so there will be a valuable opportunity to work with the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer for Cancer Services to adapt the the portfolio in response.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring person-centred care is at the heart of cancer pathways, enabling an exceptional patient experience and - importantly - equitable access to cancer services.

Tackling health inequalities is a big focus at NBT. The successful candidate will consider health inequalities in all aspects of their work, working with the Assistant Chief Nursing Offer for Cancer Services and various others working in this space to seek opportunities to improve access to care. There will be opportunity to gain oversight of all work already occurring in this space in relation to cancer, which will help inform your work.
