Senior Care Assistant - 38.5 hours
We are currently recruiting for Senior Care Assistants to work in our new male unit at Bluebell Manor in Morpeth.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the provision of care
- Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members
- Ensure Residents retain their dignity and individuality
- Act as a role model for the other care staff
- Build up good relationships with the Residents; recognise and respond to residents' social and emotional needs
- To assist Residents to carry out their activities of daily living e.g., washing, dressing, eating, and bathing
- Dispense medication and ensure correct recording of all relevant information relating to medication (after satisfactory completion of the Safe Handling of Medicines course)
- Complete, observe and review care planning needs for Residents
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident assessments, care plans, and daily observations as instructed and in line with the Company’s policies and procedures
- Effectively communicate with Residents, families, and healthcare professionals, addressing concerns and providing updates on Resident progress
What we are looking for:
- Male applicants only under Genuine Occupational Requirement (Equality Act 2010)
- Previous experience within the care industry at a Senior Carer level OR genuine interest in working in the care environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programmes
- Satisfactory DBS check
- Team player
