Summary

We are seeking a skilled Flail Mowing Operative to carry out perimeter vegetation control using tractor-mounted or self-propelled flail mowers. This role is essential to maintaining clear, safe, and visually tidy boundary areas around public spaces, farmland, highways, and industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities
• Operate flail mowing equipment to cut and manage grass, weeds, and brush along perimeter zones.
• Inspect mowing routes for hazards and obstructions prior to operation.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Report any damage, invasive species, or access issues to supervisors.
• Work independently or as part of a mobile grounds team.

Requirements
• Experience operating flail mowers or similar agricultural/grounds machinery.
• Familiarity with perimeter maintenance and vegetation control.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment upkeep.
• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather.
• Awareness of safety protocols and traffic management (if roadside).
• Tractor or machinery licence (e.g., LANTRA or NPTC) desirable.
• Full UK driving licence may be required.
