Essential recruitment are currently looking to recruit for Catering assistants due to continued growth and expansion at our client premises based in Appleby Magna. The ideal candidate must have previous experience working within the food industry, whether that restaurants, cafes or within food preparation. You must be a team player and happy working to deadlines. Due to location you must drive as there are no bus routes to the workplace. In return you will be offered a competitive pay rate, work alongside a friendly team & gain long term work! This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding company on a temporary to permanent basis.
Hours of work:
Sunday – Thursday 20:00-04:30 – 40 hours paid per week
Pay rate:
£12.81 per hour 26,644 per annum

Daily Tasks:
• Assist with the preparation of food such as cutting, chopping, washing and peeling ingredients
• Ensuring that food items are stored properly and in compliance with safety standards
• Check products for quality, consistency, and presentation, adhering to our strict hygiene and safety standards
• Help with cooking and baking tasks as directed
• Monitor and maintain clean kitchen equipment and appliances
• Pack food items, label and prepare for distribution
• Operate machinery to assist in the production process
• Maintain a positive and pro-active attitude at all times
• To demonstrate a high level of health and safety, cleanliness and food hygiene and to ensure safe working practices are followed.
Skills Required:
• Drive and have own transport due to location
• Previous experience within food prep
• Ability to work independently
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Team player
