Summary

Mechanical Design Engineer (Special Purpose Machinery)

Taunton – Office Based

Circa £50,000 + Increasing Holidays (Up to 25 Days) + Bank Holidays + Free Parking + Sick Pay

37.5 Hours per Week - Monday to Thursday 08:30 to 17:00, Friday 08:30 to 14:00

Mechanical Design Engineer required for a leading engineering company who are going through an exciting period of growth. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader who hold a global reputation for the quality of their work.

The successful candidate will have experience designing special purpose machinery and will have experience working with AutoCAD and Inventor (or similar e.g. SolidWorks). Candidates from any industrial sector are encouraged to apply.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be involved in the design of special purpose machinery, conveyors and structural steelwork.

The Mechanical Design Engineer Role:

· Provide effective design solutions based on the senior management team’s design brief.

· Work on a range of machines from our product portfolio, as well as fully bespoke projects.

· Project based work to include participation in technical reviews and conceptual design.

· Perform calculations and simulations to analyse performance, efficiency, and safety, and use data to make improvements.

· Interface with engineering team members, departments and customers.

· Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications

The Mechanical Design Engineer Candidate:

· Experience with the design of Special Purpose Machinery in an industrial sector

· Familiar with mechanical rotating equipment comprising of drives and pneumatic/hydraulic systems

· Will be an experienced designer familiar with a 3D CAD package
