We are looking for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic and committed team on Willows PICU at Highbury Hospital. The Willows is a 9 bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit designed to safely contain patients who are acutely unwell with a variety of mental health conditions.
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience of working in Mental Health, have a good understanding of risk and have an ability to work in a flexible manner to meet the demands and needs of the service. In addition to this a successful applicant must have:
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Have a strong knowledge base of an inpatient service
- Be committed to providing the highest standards of care
- An active role in the management of the ward including appraisals, PADs, debriefs, staff support, clinical decision making & therapeutic risk taking.
- Experience in completing audits

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
