Initially a fixed term contract with the opportunity for the contract to be made permanent. Term time plus 5 staff training days, required as soon as possible.

Job Description

Thank you for your interest in the post ofandnbsp;Teaching Assistant within Rise Carr College. Iandrsquo;m delighted to have the opportunity to share some information about our school, as well as some detailed information about the post.andnbsp;

andnbsp;

Overview

Riseandnbsp;Carrandnbsp;Collegeandnbsp;is a Localandnbsp;Authority maintainedandnbsp;Pupil Referral Unit and Alternative Provision which serves the eight secondary schools in Darlington.andnbsp;Home and Hospital Teaching Service, another Local Authority service, is co-located within the building and Connect is a further provision based on theandnbsp;Hummersknottandnbsp;Academy site.andnbsp;Connect is a part-time provision for children to support transition to secondary school.andnbsp;

In addition to this, in September 2021 we opened Eldon House, an additionally resourced centreandnbsp;for children with Education, Health and Care Plans with a primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Healthandnbsp;difficulties. The centre is based in aandnbsp;stand-alone building on the same site as Rise Carr College on Eldon Street in Darlington.

The centre caters for 20+ students across the secondary age range, split into Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 provision.andnbsp;

The Post

We will consider applicants who have either Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications and experience or someone who would like to complete on the job training to gain these qualifications.



The post will be 32 hours per week, Monday andndash; Friday, term time plus staff training days.

You may be required to work at any of our sites to meet the needs of the students in all of our centres.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, creative and inspiring teaching assistant who is passionate about learning and committed to nurturing the emotional wellbeing of children.

andnbsp;

The school has adopted an inclusive, integrated approach to curriculum and so we are looking for someone that can support the academic subjects, but also with a creative flair and enjoys a hands-on approach to learning.



We are looking for individuals who:

Have experience of delivering interventions focused on behaviour and social and emotional wellbeing.
Have very good classroom organisation and very strong behaviour management skills.
Are adaptable and reflective practitioners who can work with children with SEMH and additional needs.
Are passionate about developing strong, working relationships with children, parents/carers and the school community.andnbsp;
Have worked within a multi-agency approach and have a good understanding of working within a team.
Are resilient and self-motivatedandnbsp;
