Redruth, UK | Temporary Ongoing | Salaried (Banding DOE) | Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm | Reporting to Principal Quality Engineer

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of Pall Redruth Aerospace for a Quality Engineer. This key role acts as the first-line representative for all quality matters with strategic customers, driving quality improvement initiatives across the product family and supporting Quality Engineers and Technicians.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates passionate about quality assurance and continuous improvement within aerospace manufacturing.

Key Duties:
  • Take ownership of First Pass Yield (FPY) and Customer Complaint metrics and drive improvements.
  • Act as the primary contact for strategic customer quality teams.
  • Implement and maintain the Certified Operator Program for the product family.
  • Lead Quality Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure effective training and execution of DBS and QMS activities to meet quality goals.
  • Use structured problem-solving approaches such as Danaher PSP and 8D to resolve issues.
  • Manage cross-functional projects and Customer Complaint CAPA processes.
  • Liaise with customers, government, and FAA on quality audits, telcons, and corrective actions.
  • Lead quality efforts during New Product Introduction (NPI), including DFMEA, PFMEA, and PPAP/APQP activities.
  • Prepare technical presentations and reports to support quality initiatives.
Requirements:
  • MS degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in quality or operations within manufacturing.
  • Proven success in a metrics-driven quality or operations environment.
  • Strong knowledge of variation control, SPC, and process capability analysis.
  • Experience with APQP tools including FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAPs.
  • Skilled in statistical Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvements using data and structured problem-solving methods.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Supervisory or people management experience.
  • Six Sigma and/or ASQ certifications.
  • Lean methodology and Kaizen leadership.
  • Customer quality management and relationship skills.
Competencies:
  • Leadership and communication excellence.
  • Strong decision-making and interpersonal skills.
  • Quality assurance knowledge including ISO 9001 and calibration systems.
  • Data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Effective cross-functional project management.
Additional Information:
  • Occasional travel to other sites and customer locations may be required.
  • Must hold a clean UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to work reasonable overtime as needed.
