Wykebeck Primary School – ‘Know the way, go the way, show the way’ currently have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to join the team as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant, supporting teaching staff with responsibility for the development and educational provision of learners.Job overview:This is for 33 hours/week, term time only.You’ll be responsible for assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You’ll contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met.We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, self-motivated teaching assistant to support children in our school.This post will include providing support and advice to all children including those with additional needs. The post holder should promote children’s social and emotional care and personal development with respect to learning, behaviour and health and safety. It will also involve supervision over lunchtime.
It will involve working with the class teacher, individual pupils, staff, parents, and outside agencies in a positive proactive role.
Ideally, we are seeking an individual with experience of supporting pupils in a nurturing and inclusive primary school setting.Job requirements:A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experienceTraining in the relevant strategies e.g. literacy and/or in particular curriculum or learning area e.g. bi-lingual, sign language, dyslexia, ICT, maths, English, CACHE etc.
Working knowledge of national/foundation stage curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies
Full working knowledge of relevant polices/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes
Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
