The role: As our Lead Speech and Language Therapist, you will: Deliver highly specialist SLT assessment and intervention for clients with complex physical, cognitive, communication, and behavioural needs following neurological injury or illness. Lead the development and delivery of evidence-based therapy programmes, working collaboratively with the wider MDT to achieve the best outcomes for clients. Independently plan, deliver, and evaluate communication therapy groups, ensuring practice is innovative and client-centred. Uphold and model the highest standards of clinical care, ensuring practice reflects current national guidance and best practice. Act as Key Worker where appropriate, driving coordinated goal-setting, therapy planning, and discharge preparation. Provide professional leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior SLTs and therapy assistants, supporting their clinical development in line with ACG policy. Take an active role in the induction, education, and training of interdisciplinary team members. Ensure compliance with professional codes of practice, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and quality improvement initiatives within SLT and across the wider therapy service. Take responsibility for safeguarding within your practice—ensuring clients are protected from harm, empowered to have a voice, and that their human rights are always upheld.
