Wykebeck Primary School – ‘Know the way, go the way, show the way’

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, self-motivated teaching assistant to support children in our school.

This post will include providing support and advice to all children including those with additional needs. The post holder should promote children’s social and emotional care and personal development with respect to learning, behaviour and health and safety. It will also involve supervision over lunchtime.

It will involve working with the class teacher, individual pupils, staff, parents, and outside agencies in a positive proactive role.

Ideally, we are seeking an individual with experience of supporting pupils in a nurturing and inclusive primary school setting.

Wykebeck Primary School is a two-form entry primary school which serves a diverse community and is well resourced with modern facilities and a fantastic outdoor environment. We thrive on a team approach and a caring ethos and are looking for a candidate who can offer a wide range of skills.

If you are interested in applying for this role, please see the job description and application form on our website: www.wykebeckprimary.co.uk/website/vacancies

Please send completed application forms to jobs@wykebeckprimary.co.uk by 12 midday on Monday 10th November 2025

Interviews will be held on Thursday 13th November 2025

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check against the Children’s barred list will be carried out on preferred candidates. Read our recruitment of ex-offenders policy.

We welcome applications from everyone and actively seek a diverse range of applicants from all backgrounds and cultures. We particularly encourage applications from, but not limited to, women, carers, veterans as well as LGBT+, ethnically diverse, disabled and care experienced people.

This role is based in the UK. Home Office guidance states that candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa.

If you do not have the right to work in the UK, you must consider your own eligibility for sponsorship for a particular role through the Skilled Worker visa route before applying. To be eligible for sponsorship you'll usually need to be paid the standard salary rate of at least £41,700 per year or meet one of the other eligibility criteria. Please ensure you are eligible before applying.
