An exciting opportunity has arisen for GPs interested in bank agreements with the Clinical Assessment & Treatment Service for Dorset's Integrated Urgent Care Service (DIUCS).
This is an exciting time to join the Integrated Urgent Care Service which brings together services and professionals from a variety of urgent care settings.
This is an opportunity to build, consolidate and develop your knowledge and expertise within our urgent care service. You will be able to maintain high standards of professional care and practice, be able to demonstrate excellent team work, good communication and leadership skills.
Integrated Urgent Care services provide urgent access to healthcare for residents and visitors to Dorset, the aim is to facilitate:
• Integrated urgent care 24/7 with increased demand evenings, overnights, weekends and bank holidays.
• At times it will include technology-based access including video consultations and telephone consultations.
• The role will need to work closely with the integrated community services, the 111 service and local emergency departments within Dorset to ensure patients are seen in the right place at the right time according to their clinical need.
• The service will support system resilience and deliver care in partnership to improve outcomes for patients.
This advert is for a bank agreement only and shifts available will be advertised to successful applicants. This post is to provide hours to suit on an as and when basis to deliver evening, weekend and bank holiday urgent primary care service.
The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and prioritise according to service needs across the Dorset area.
The key duties for this post are:
• The examination, investigation and treatment of patients
• May be required to use Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS)
• Providing home visits to patients in their own homes and where required, in a community setting or other location as required
• To assist the system by managing cases with telephone triage on the IUCS clinical queue
• To monitor clinical workflow such as tasks and incoming results.
• To manage and facilitate administrative tasks, such as ongoing referrals.
• To clinically support other staff working within the service, both locally and remotely.
• To work collaboratively with other services within the county.
There will be the opportunity of supervision both from experienced local GPs and the senior clinical team.
