Summary

Job role: Freelance Online Business Manager (OBM)
Based: At home in the UK, this is a virtual role.
Pay: £20 / hour on a self-employed basis.
Closing Date: Monday 10th November

We are looking for experienced Online Business Managers and Virtual Executive Assistants to join our talented OBM Team.

You will be working on a freelance basis, the hours for this role will depend on the number of clients that you agree to work with. There are no minimum number of hours for this role. For the right person, hours will increase as far as you want them to.

This role offers flexible start dates, as work will begin based on client needs and project availability.

Sycamore OBM is based in Oxford, however, this role is open UK wide, as long as you have a good level of broadband.

Sycamore OBM partners with neurodivergent founders and business owners to enable them to thrive and shape the world through our Online Business Management and Coaching.

We have a background in working with neurodivergent individuals and our focus is to work with business owners to clarify their business strategy, increase their productivity, and reduce workload.

Sometimes we simply provide business coaching. For other clients, they need a skilled freelance person to join their team to deliver on their vision.

About you:
- Super organised

- Able to direct a meeting to get to the heart of a client’s needs
- Demonstrable experience of problem solving
- The ability to quickly inspire a client’s confidence in the initial meeting. You will leave the customer confident that you will find solutions
- Respectful of confidentiality at all times
- The confidence to ask customers, ‘Why do you do it like that’?
- Creativity to come up with new solutions to existing problems
- Humility – to ask when you don’t understand something
- Own a laptop or computer

We're not expecting you to be an expert in everything, we're looking for a diverse set of skills

Apply if you have one or more of the following:
- Proven experience in Operational Management, Project Management, Business - - Management, Senior Administration, or similar roles.
- Experience creating, implementing, and managing a CRM system to improve client relationships and streamline operations.
- Sound understanding of the strategies and structures needed to scale a small business effectively.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and similar productivity suites.
- Skilled in using task management platforms such as Asana, Trello, or Monday.
- Understanding of neurodivergence and the challenges individuals may face in a neurotypical world.
- Familiar with website-building platforms such as WordPress or Squarespace.
- Experience managing social media platforms, including content creation and scheduling.
- AAT Bookkeeping qualification or equivalent hands-on bookkeeping experience.
- Competent in Canva or similar design tools.

What you will be doing:
The needs of our clients and their businesses vary. Your day to day tasks will be different with each client.

Tasks could include:
- Implementing new systems and processes
- Owning a project or business function within Operations, Client Services or Systems Support
- Identifying areas and opportunities for growth or development
- Creating and scheduling social media content
- Sourcing and completing funding applications
- Updating a client's website
- Writing a weekly blog post
- Replying to social media enquiries
- Reviewing / streamlining finance processes or cashhflow planning
- A wide variety of other roles and functions that support the client's business
