An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a proudly independent hospital in the beautiful heart of East Lancashire. Founded in 1911, this practice combines over a century of trusted veterinary care with a forward thinking, modern approach providing exceptional first opinion services in a supportive, progressive environment.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step in their career. With a high and varied caseload, including opportunities to expand in-house services, this role offers excellent potential for professional development, particularly for those with surgical or orthopaedic interests. You’ll work alongside a talented and welcoming team, including certificate holders in medicine, dentistry, and emergency and critical care, as well as an exceptional nursing team with expertise in anaesthesia, physiotherapy, feline nursing, and more.
The hospital is equipped with everything you’d expect from a forward thinking, well-resourced facility, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopy, two surgical theatres with multiparameter monitors, and a dedicated dental suite with dental x-ray. There’s also an extensive in-house laboratory, three consult rooms, separate dog and cat wards, and even a designated bereavement room to support clients through every stage of care. The practice also benefits from three dedicated night RVNs, two of whom hold ECC certificates, who take calls overnight to support the on-call vets.
Above all, this practice is about people and teamwork. The leadership team places huge emphasis on colleague wellbeing, with regular meetings, open communication, and a culture built on kindness and appreciation. Many team members also take part in charity events and community initiatives, making this a workplace where you can truly make a difference both inside and outside the clinic.
If you’re a compassionate, proactive Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a friendly, supportive, and highly skilled team where your growth is encouraged and your wellbeing is valued, this could be the perfect opportunity to build a rewarding and fulfilling career in a hospital that truly cares!
