Summary
At FCDO Services we protect the UK’s interests at home and overseas. We design and construct secure government buildings and courier diplomatic packages worldwide, safeguard government tech and a whole lot more. Our work is as varied and vital as it gets, but we never lose sight of our people. Their skills, aspirations and growth mean as much as the global mission we’re on. In our world, it all matters.
Supporting national security.
Finding the perfect balance.
Taking pride in your work.
It all matters.
Lead a cyber team that shields critical operations
A natural leader, you’ll be providing guidance and implementing cyber strategy while balancing hands-on technical work with people management. You’ll lead a team of skilled professionals, mentor apprentices, and make sure performance meets expectations, while overseeing key policies, certifications, and customer plans. Managing costs, producing performance reports, and embedding best practices, you’ll keep services secure, compliant, and ready for whatever comes next.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders, customers, and cross-government teams, translating complex cyber risks into clear advice. Chairing working groups, supporting onboarding and offboarding, and representing FCDO Services at technical events, you’ll spot patterns, drive improvements, and champion a culture of service excellence – all while developing new capabilities and safeguarding critical operations.
Apply security expertise in high-stakes environments
You’re confident navigating complex, secure environments and bring a strong background in cyber security, risk management, and IT systems. From cloud and mobile technologies to governance and applied security, you’re comfortable bridging technical and non-technical audiences, providing clear advice, and ensuring systems remain resilient.
You’ve always got your eye on the little details. Whether leading audits, assessing risks, or guiding projects, you bring precision, reliability, and strategic insight to everything you do. Adaptable and proactive, you’re experienced in managing customer and supplier relationships, driving improvements, and sharing your expertise with others – always developing your skills and applying your professional knowledge to keep services secure and compliant.
Discover the support you need to grow your career
Working with us, you’ll help keep people, information, and assets safe around the world. It’s a role you can feel proud of, and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That’s why when you join us, you expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do and all you need.
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. You can find out more about vetting at fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/

We support every individual, so that you always know you’re welcome and valued. It’s what makes us a Disability Confident employer. And why we’re recognised as a ‘Carer Confident’ workplace. And it’s how you know you’re joining an inspiring, inclusive organisation.
Candidates who are judged to be close to meeting the criteria may be considered for other positions in FCDO Services which may be at a lower grade, but have a potential skills match
