Junior Building Estimator
Location: Central Manchester (Hybrid opportunities post-induction)
Salary: £27,500 per annum
Benefits: 28 days paid holiday (including bank holidays), rising annually; company medical insurance (after qualifying period); hybrid working allowance

About the Role
Due to continued expansion and a strong forward order base, exciting opportunities have arisen for junior estimators to join our growing Technical Services Team at Estimators Online.
Junior estimators will work alongside experienced senior estimators to develop their skills in producing accurate labour and material take-offs for domestic building projects. This includes specification analysis, measurement from plans, and data entry into our bespoke estimating software.
You’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of residential projects – from extensions and loft conversions to refurbishments and new builds – while learning how to interpret architectural drawings and understand the cost structure of construction.

Training & Development
You’ll receive full on-the-job training, led by our Technical Services Training Manager, through a structured induction programme that typically runs for 16 weeks.
During this period, you’ll be:
• Introduced to our in-house estimating software and digital systems.
• Supported by senior team members through shadowing and mentoring.
• Given regular reviews to track progress and build confidence in your estimating abilities.
Our goal is to help you develop into a fully independent building estimator – equipped with both the technical and practical understanding of residential construction.

Skills & Requirements
We’re looking for individuals who:
• Have recently completed a T-Level in Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction, or are currently studying towards a HNC/HND in Construction.
• Have a genuine interest in how buildings are constructed.
• Possess good numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Can interpret construction drawings or have a willingness to learn.
• Are organised, detail-focused, and eager to learn within a fast-paced team environment.
