Summary
Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and competent Electrical Improver to assist in the installation of temporary lighting on a construction site. The role involves supporting qualified electricians with the setup and maintenance of lighting systems used during the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation of temporary site lighting systems (110V or other site voltages).
Run and fix cabling (T&E, flex, SWA, etc.) securely and neatly.
Fit and maintain site lighting fixtures such as floodlights, bulkheads, festoon lighting, and emergency lighting.
Help ensure electrical work is compliant with health & safety and site regulations.
Carry out testing support under supervision.
Keep the work area tidy and assist in general site duties related to electrical work.
Report any faults or issues to the supervising electrician or site manager.
Requirements:
White ECS card
Basic hand tools and PPE.
Previous experience assisting with temporary electrical installations (preferred).
Ability to read and understand basic electrical drawings.
Awareness of site safety protocols and electrical safety.
Physically fit and able to work on active construction sites.
Desirable:
Site Safety Plus or equivalent safety training.
