• Thames Energy 's core business is the design, installation and maintenance of Building Services for public sector clients nationally.
• Due to continued growth, we are now seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join the Projects Delivery Team, based in Basildon.
Role Overview:
• Reporting to the Projects Director you will play a critical role in managing the mechanical and electrical installation works to primarily educational and residential projects.
• Have five years' experience in a Contract Manager / Supervisory related role, with a technical background.
• You will ensure that projects are completed within budget, compliant to all relevant British Standards, Building Regulations and to the highest quality.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and potential clients to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
• District Heating and Energy Centre experience desirable
Requirements:
• HNC / ONC / NVQ 4/3 in Building Services or individual trade discipline
• SMSTS /IOSH certificates
• Ability to prioritise and deal with multiple demands
• Up to date in technical and H&S legislation
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
• Overseeing several projects at the same time
• Effective time management skills
• Good communication and IT skills
• Experience managing multiple projects at a time
• Must be well organised and customer focussed
• Valid Enhanced DBS Certificate
• Full UK Driving license essential
Duties to include:
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution.
• Scrutinise consultants design intent design prior to works commencing on site to ensure information is correct and works are completed right first time
• Compile Site Specific RAMS. Monitor content is being adhered to and ensure works are completed safely and compliant with CDM Regulations 2015.
• Interpret Contract Administrator Instructions and update valuations.
• Maintain client relationships through regular updates and site visits.
• Ensure Subcontractor labour and materials schedules are in accordance with the client agreed, construction programme.
• Main and Sub-Contract Management, negotiating and reviewing JCT contracts and other building industry contracts.
• Work alongside the Finance Director to deliver projects within agreed profit margins and business objectives.
• Attend client meetings and present Contractor’s monthly progress reports.
• Oversee projects from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover
• Prepare O&M manuals and issue to interested parties.
