Are you passionate about the care and support of those living in homeless hostels? Do you have a track record of developing psychologically informed environments with accommodation providers? Do you want to lead a service that makes a valued contribution? If so, we want to hear from you.
The post holder will be responsible for the psychological provision for people in Tower Hamlet’s homeless hostels. Specifically, the promotion of Psychologically Informed Environments. The post holder would be expected to work closely with experts-by-experience; accommodation providers; local communities; health, social and commissioning leads voluntary and charitable sector organisations (VCSO) to co-produce and co-develop services.
This role is available either as a fixed term contract for 12 months, or a secondment. The role has become available due to a staff secondment from this post for the coming year.
Whilst the role is 0.6WTE, there may be an addition half day, though this is not yet agreed.
The main duties of the job are to work autonomously with Tower Hamlet's homeless hostel providers to support psychologically informed environments. This work is largely in-direct. Experience of working to support staff teams in their practice and skill development is essential.
In some providers, the work will include quality improvement projects with a significant co-production element. These skills and related experiences are also essential.
As the post holder will represent the NHS and psychological professions in a range of meetings, the skills and experience to do this in an effective and thoughtful manner are essential. Experience of influencing a range of stakeholders to improve care will also be highly valued in this role - for example commissioners, health and social care leads, hostel management and staff teams.
Due to the high rates of acquired brain injury in population, the service has offered a neuropsychological assessment clinic in the past. This was linked to a specific provider. If these skills are available, that will be an asset.
