The Role
As a Team Leader, you will play a vital part in ensuring that children receive the highest standards of care and support. You’ll lead, motivate, and guide a small team of Support Workers, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and that care plans are delivered consistently in line with each child’s needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support a team of Support Workers on shift
Oversee the implementation of individual care and behaviour support plans
Ensure a safe, positive, and enriching environment for all young people
Participate in the home’s on-call rota and assist in rota management
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards
Support staff development through supervision, mentoring, and training
About You
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and can lead by example.
Essential:
Experience working in a children’s residential setting (minimum 1 year)
Knowledge of learning disabilities, communication strategies, and positive behaviour support
Strong leadership and communication skills
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards it)
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Desirable:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards)
Full UK driving licence
