An exciting opportunity has arisen for anenthusiastic psychology graduate who has experience of working with children / young people to jointhe CAMHS Tier 4 Service as an Assistant Psychologist.
A good understanding of clinical risk and safeguarding in the context of child and adolescent mental health is essential.
All young people who are accepted to the service will follow a structured programme, in line with relevant NICE guidelines (for example anorexia nervosa, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation). Interventions are delivered by a multi-disciplinary clinical teamcomprisingof: Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Dietitian, Family Therapist, Teaching staff, Support staff including Assistant Psychologists, Clinical Support Staff, Activity Co-ordinator, Administrators and Managerial Support.
The successful candidate will join the multi-disciplinary team and play a role insupporting the delivery of the structured clinical programme and psychological provision for the service. This may include supporting assessments, the effective use of routine outcome measures, and direct individual,groupand/or family work, underappropriate supervision. The role may include contributing to multiagency meetings, clinical administration, audit and service development, and the training of others.

• Supporting quality improvement initiatives and conduct audits as appropriate
• Assistingwith the efficient running of the service, includingappropriate clinicaladministration
• To provide effective analysis of a range of facts and inputs toestablishand apply evidence-based formulation and options of care that can be negotiated with the child, youngpersonand their families.
• The post holderis required toadopt the principles of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and work within the framework when assessing,planningand co-coordinating the care and medical treatment that a young personrequires.
• To receive regular clinical supervisionand management supervision as defined in the Trust policy (Clinical and Management Supervision for all BHFT Staff (Clinical and Non-Clinical Staff), BHFT CCR097)) andin accordance withprofessional practice guidelines.
• The post holder willbe responsible forcollecting and inputtingaccurateinformation relating to service performance and e.g. diagnosis, various outcomes measures including CORC and Routine Outcome Measures (ROMs),maintainingeffective ROM records and spreadsheets, and liaison with QNIC ROM.

The “must haves” for this role:
• Psychology degree (upper second or higher) and eligibility for graduate membership with the British Psychological Society
• Experience of, and a passion for, working with children and young people
• Excellent communication skills
