Summary
Your new school
Your new school will be a lovely community Church of England school in South Warwickshire, located between Stratford and Bambury. This role is due to start after October half-term, and the school are looking for someone who will build a long-lasting relationship with the child in KS2. The role is working full time from 8.30-15.30 Monday to Friday.
Your new role
You'll be working within a mainstream classroom-based environment as a 1-1 Teaching Assistant in a KS2 class. You will be working within a class, whilst helping the pupil to focus on their work. The pupil has a health condition that can cause seizures, so you will be expected to support this pupil at all times throughout the day. The school staff are trained in administering any medication, so experience in this is not essential. The pupil can spend time both inside and outside the classroom, so you must be prepared to adapt your day based on the needs of the pupil that day.
What you'll need to succeed
- To succeed in this role as a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you must be able to build a positive and lasting yet professional relationship with the child, and be confident in how to manage behaviour. You must be strong-willed and determined.
- You must have at least 40 days experience of working within a school environment. This can be either on a voluntary basis or paid work.
- Transferable experience in a similar role would be ideal but is not essential. However, experience working with children is essential.
