Summary

Vacancies for Band 5 Neonatal Nurses to work within Transitional Care

Are you ready to make a difference in neonatal care?

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is thrilled to announce the collaboration between Neonatal and Maternity Services by introducing Neonatal nurses to our Transitional Care Service. The Transitional Care Service spans both the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) and Nottingham City Hospital campuses. We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Band 5 Neonatal Transitional Care Nurses to join us on this exciting journey, shaping the future of care for babies and their families.

Neonatal Transitional Care provides additional support for newborns who need more support after they are born but are not sick enough to require admission to a neonatal unit. It is designed to keep the birthing person and baby together, with enhanced support from midwifery and neonatal teams. This care model supports a smoother transition home, enhances parental confidence, increases breastfeeding rates, and reduces separation between mother and baby.

The Neonatal Transitional Care Service at NUH consists of 8 beds located on the postnatal ward at each campus. We are looking to recruit a whole new nursing team to be able to staff the service.

Working within the maternity and neonatal services at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) offers an unparalleled opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s largest and most respected teaching hospital trusts, known for its dedication to excellence and innovation in care. NUH supports over 8,000 births annually across its two campuses, Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) and City Hospital, offering diverse and cutting-edge facilities, including midwifery-led units, a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and home birth services. The trust fosters a collaborative and supportive environment, emphasising professional development through access to advanced training programs, mentorship, and research opportunities.
