About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic TIG Welder to join our manufacturing facility at Future Generation Services (FGS) based in Rochester, Kent. The role is responsible for welding and fabricating a range of our products ready for final assembly on our production line.
This is a factory based role and is an expansion of our current Metal work team to increase our production capability and overall manufacturing capacity. You will work alongside a small team of experienced manufacturing fabricators and metal workers and will receive full production training to ensure your development and progression.
The role is full-time based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 8:00am to 4:30pm, but overtime may be available during busy periods including some options to work weekends.

The Role
By joining our team you’ll:
- Work within our dedicated Metal Fabrication team and report directly to the Metal Shop Manager
- Work to produce a range of metal products and welded assemblies that are constructed into our end products
- Be responsible for maintaining a high standard of quality of workmanship
- Ensure compliance to all aspects of Health & Safety policy
- Contribute to our product development process and provide feedback to our design team on manufacturing issues.
What you can bring to our team:
- Proficiency in TIG welding is essential - a practical test will be carried out as part of the recruitment process.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Good working knowledge of sheet metals, including Mild and Stainless Steels. Experience with Aluminium is an advantage, but not essential
- Expertise in both Seam and Spot welding
- Good attention to detail and confidence to read and understand engineering design drawings
- Good communication skills for teamwork and project coordination
- Ability to work to schedules and ensure jobs are completed within given timeframes.
- Flexibility to undertake overtime as and when required by the business.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- Expertise in TIG Welding either through on-the-job experience or through formal qualification such as City & Guilds Level 3 or Level 2, with suitable work experience.
- Good mathematical skills
- Experience in reading technical drawings and specifications
- Good communication skills
- Experience in working with sheet metal
