More detail about the role These posts have been created in response to increasing diagnostic demand and the ongoing expansion of services, particularly inin gynaecological, gastrointestinal and dermatopathology. Expertise in one or both of these subspecialties is required. Consultants within the department typically contribute across two to three different subspecialty areas, and there is scope to accommodate experience and interests in other fields of pathology. We welcome applications from individuals with established subspecialty expertise, as well as those keen to further develop their skills in these areas. Key responsibilities include: Contributing to the diagnostic workload in in gynaecological, gastrointestinal and dermatopathology Opportunities to report on general histopathology and cytology, if desired Participation in the autopsy service is welcomed but not essential About the Department The Histopathology Department is UKAS-accredited and based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
