Your duties will be diverse and tailored to the young person's evolving needs, with a strong emphasis on fostering independence and communication.
Day-to-Day responsibilities:Public Transport & Travel: Provide support with public transport and travel to a diverse range of different locations across Leeds, enabling access to appointments, social engagements, and activities.Weekly Food Shops: Support the young person with their weekly food shops, assisting with planning, navigating the supermarket, making choices, and managing purchases.Budgeting & Finances: Provide practical support to help the young person budget their weekly allowance, track spending, understand financial decisions, and manage their money independently.
Supporting "Paperworks" Placement:
Travel Support: Provide consistent support with travel on public transport (buses, trains, etc.) to and from the young person's "Paperworks placement" in Leeds, ensuring safe and timely arrival and departure.Main Point of Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for the "Paperworks placement" regarding the young person's attendance, support needs, and any queries or updates, facilitating smooth communication between all parties.Communication & Social Interactions: Support the young person with communication and social interactions while they are working at their placement. This may involve helping them understand instructions, relaying messages, facilitating conversations with colleagues, or providing prompts in social settings.Independence Development: Actively support and develop independence skills within the work placement environment. This could include encouraging self-organization, problem-solving, task initiation, and self-advocacy.
