Crynodeb
Corporate and Delivery Directorate works closely with the Home Office’s policy and operational commands to enable us together to deliver the department’s priorities. The directorate is comprised of different teams and professional functions, including Commercial, Finance, People, Portfolio and Project Delivery, Security, Estates and Information and Digital, Data and Technology.
The Security Manager provides effective operational management to the Security Guarding Team ensuring the Physical Security of HO buildings, staff and assets are maintained at all times. There are a high degree of “reactive” tasks associated with the post, therefore flexibility and prioritising are key requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Shared direct line management of HO Security Officers & Supervisors and overseeing the work of Contractor Security Officers.
- Management of all HO buildings on the estate, ensuring the protection of Home Office property, staff and assets.
- Create, maintain and implement site specific operational guidance.
- Create and maintain rosters.
- Support the Regional manager in the management and improvement of performance, delivery of service and support change.
- Provide on-call advice to the estates sites out of hours (one week on one week off).
- Any other duties within the scope of the grade and within the limits of skill, competence and training.
Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis.
Training
This is a diverse and exciting role, for which, full training will be provided, along with mentoring ensuring you are fully supported within the role.
You will receive full training and support to do the job including conflict management. Training will be mainly completed on the job with a mentor who supports you until you are fully confident in the role.
