Summary


The Clinical Outpatient Department at Salford Royal Hospital holds clinics for many different specialities. An opportunity has arisen for two part time Health Care Assistants to join the Clinical Outpatient Team. Hours available are 14 hours and 8 hours.

Suitable candidates should be already in possession of a Level 3 certificate or apprenticeship in health care related subject, as well as a Care Certificate.

The department provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills and knowledge across a variety of specialities as you are expected to work across all areas with support from a team of registered nurses.

You will be proficient in venepuncture, have excellent organisational skills within the clinic setting, have leadership qualities and have a keen interest to Lead in standardising clinic activity.

You will offer a person-centered approach to patient care and go the extra mile to ensure compassionate and personalised patient care is delivered to ensure our patients have a positive clinic experience.

• Work within clinics as allocated by the nurse in charge.
• Support Clinicians by assisting in the delivery of care to the patient directly or indirectly.
• Manage clinic workload and Team organisation.
• Support the Registered staff through the utilisation knowledge and skills learnt at NVQ Level three to provide safe and effective care to patients and support to clinicians.
• Communicate effectively with other members of the department team & patients and visitors to the department
• Carry out routine and specific procedures required for the day-to-day running of the department that require no interpretation where diagnostic results are produced
• Maintain good standards of cleanliness in the department.
• Actively support the work to achieve and maintain OPAAS green status

Changes to the UK immigration policy introduced on the 9th April 2025, increased the minimum salary threshold for certificates of sponsorship applications for Health and Care Worker Visa from £23,200 (£11.90 per hour) to £25,000 (£12.82 per hour). As per Agenda for Change, if you are new to the NHS your starting salary would be £24,937 (minimum Band 3 salary from 1st April 2025 in line with National Living Wage requirements). This salary point is below the new minimum threshold, and not eligible for sponsorship.
