This is a 12 month secondment opportunity to provide line management and clinical leadership to the Physical Disability Physiotherapy service(PDPS).

· To be aware of and implement where appropriate, national drivers and policies
· To deliver all aspects of Clinical Governance working with the clinical team
· To collect, monitor, analyse and report on clinical activity, outcome and service standards for the PDPS

The Physical Disability Physiotherapy Service is a well-established, highly regarded specialist neuro-physiotherapy team within Oxfordshire supporting people living with long term and complex neurological conditions in the community.
An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen to lead PDPS as a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist. You will be leading a team of innovative Physiotherapists. Development opportunities and regular supervision will be provided to support you.

Management:
- To manage the PDPS budget, in conjunction with the Operational Manager, liaising with the Finance Team.
- To line manage the PDPS team: registered physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants and clerical staff.
- To be responsible for recruitment, retention & deployment of clinical and non-clinical staff with support from Human Resources and line manager.
- To deliver all aspects of Clinical Governance working with the clinical team
Clinical:
- To assess capacity, gain valid informed consent and work within a legal framework with clients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
- To undertake a comprehensive assessment of clients, using clinical reasoning to interpret information in a wide range of complex neurological disabilities.
- To recommend evidence-based intervention and to develop personalised treatment and management plans, with due regard for the client’s physical and psychosocial needs, and the environment in which the care will be delivered.
- To deliver a holistic physiotherapy treatment and management plan, by utilizing a wide range of treatment skills and options to maximise the client’s potential in a variety of settings. E.g.: home environment, sports centre, day centre.
- Diversity of experience, including working with complex physical and/or neurological conditions
- Experience of managing others
- Knowledge and skills in delivery of Clinical Governance
- Working in a community setting or as a lone practitioner
- State registered Physiotherapist
- Evidence of CPD in neurology, leadership and management
- Post Graduate Education to Master’s level in clinical field
- High level knowledge of complex neurological conditions
- Knowledge of relevant national directives
- Member of relevant special interest group
- Evidence of being a team player
- Evidence of being an excellent communicator
- Ability to motivate and lead staff
- Evidence that candidate is a problem solver
