We are a research and development company, looking to appoint a proactive and reliable Shipping & Receiving Assistant to our growing team.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in the packaging and shipping of goods to global customers as well as receiving and verifying materials. This person will need to complete all of the required paperwork and maintain meticulous records of all incoming and outgoing shipments. Your commitment to excellence will help us meet our goals and ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Packaging:
• Making boxes for shipments
• Packing boxes with products
• Labelling boxes for correct shipment
• Shipping:
• To ensure all shipping documents are accurate as per specification.
• Liaise with shipping agent, freight forwarder and customer concerning all shipping related issues.
• Create shipping documents, such as Product Certificate of Conformance, Packing- list, Dangerous Goods declaration, Collection report and any other relevant documents for shipping.
• Liaise with internal departments to collate shipping documents e.g. Quality Control records, Label inspection forms
• Track shipment and resolve any concerns promptly.
• Archive all shipping documents in the nominated electronic folders.
• Goods In & out:
• Taking delivery of goods
• Incoming inspection for raw materials and goods.
• Appropriate data entry in respective forms.
• Prepare labels for the respective products.
• Perform packing inspection of finished goods.
• Handle out-going shipments.
The Company
BioInteractions Ltd is a research and development company specialising in biocompatible material technologies for the worldwide medical device industry.
Based in purpose-built laboratories in the Thames Valley Science Park at the University of Reading, the company develops advanced and specialised coatings for devices used in medical treatments and procedures ranging from class 1 to class 3 implants.
The Person
• An individual with experience in a similar role is preferred (e.g. handling dangerous good).
• Strong sense of urgency and able to drive work forward to meet targets and timelines.
• Detail-oriented mindset and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending and lifting.
• Data entry and computer skills (e.g. Microsoft office, Shipping Software – FedEx, UPS).
• Excellent communication skills (e.g. liaising with stakeholders).
• Understanding of Health and Safety protocols.
