Are you looking for a hands-on role as a School Caretaker?
South Hampstead High School is seeking a reliable, proactive individual with strong maintenance skills to help keep our school safe, secure, and well-maintained.
This is a varied, rewarding maintenance role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with our Senior School Premises Manager, carrying out day-to-day repairs, responding to maintenance requests, and liaising with external contractors when needed.
The role can be either full time (36 hours per week) or part time (26 hours per week), with 30 days’ annual leave (pro rata) and excellent benefits.
What you’ll need:
Good all-round maintenance and DIY skills
Confidence using IT including Outlook, Word, and Excel, to log jobs and send emails
Friendly, clear communication skills for working with colleagues, contractors, students, and parents
A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work on your own initiative
Willingness to train as a first aider (we’ll provide the training)
Previous experience as a school caretaker, premises assistant, or in a similar role would be helpful, but it’s not essential if you have the right skills and attitude.
