ABOUT THE ROLE
As an entry-level chef with Ocean Exmouth, you’ll play a vital role in creating memorable dining experiences. You’ll work closely
with our experienced Kitchen Manager and dedicated team, gaining hands-on experience in every aspect of kitchen operations.
Whether it’s breakfast rushes, busy lunch times, or evening dining, you’ll quickly build skills in a fast-paced, energetic
setting.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare and present food to high standards, following set recipes and procedures
* Assist in delivering food across all our restaurant and catering outlets
* Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and storage areas
* Monitor stock rotation and report waste or food nearing expiry
* Receive and safely store deliveries, following hygiene procedures
* Operate kitchen equipment safely, reporting any issues as needed
* Support stock takes and kitchen admin duties where required
* Uphold food safety, health & safety, and COSHH standards at all times
* Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide smooth, efficient service
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to begin or further a career in hospitality. We’re searching for enthusiastic,
reliable individuals who are eager to learn and motivated to succeed in a high-energy environment.
Essential:
* BTEC or NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality or Professional Cookery (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards it
* Some experience in a professional kitchen or food environment is beneficial but not essential
* An understanding of food hygiene and safety, or the motivation to learn
* Flexibility and reliability—able to work weekends, early mornings, or occasional evenings
Desirable:
* Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
* First Aid at Work qualification
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
