Summary
At Pobl Group, this role is best known as Scheme Support Officer. Dyfrig House has opportunity for a resilient, motivated and positive individual to join our supported housing service in Cardiff on a full-time, permanent basis.
Job Specifics:
Full Time – 37 hours
Contract: Permanent
Salary:£24,531.00 + £51.11 sleep-in allowance
Work Pattern: Days, nights, weekend availability & Sleep-ins
It is essential that the successful candidate holds a valid driver’s licence and has access to a car. Dyfrig House operates multiple services between Cardiff Central and Newport Road, and you will be required to work across these locations.

Dyfrig House provides supported accommodation for homeless people who are motivated to address their problematic alcohol and substance use issues.
We support these individuals by engaging them in recovery & treatment services and through providing housing related support so that they can live independently.
Dyfrig House works with Pobl’s treatment services as well as local recovery services to support people on their journey to recovery and facilitate a positive move on into independent living. Some of the individuals we support have been involved in the criminal justice system, so this is a good opportunity to support people to make positive life changes.
Your duties will include:
Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Supporting the client as directed by the Project Worker according to the support plan specifically tailored to each client
Wellbeing checks
Ensuring the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
Reception duties
Dealing with challenging behaviours and responding to arising needs
Using IT systems to accurately record client interactions and maintain internal documentation in line with organisational policies
Promoting a safe and supportive environment that fosters personal growth
Our aim is to ensure we equip individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role as this service delivers intensive support around each client’s recovery before focus is put on the housing related support and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, anti-social behaviour and offending behaviour.
You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours and each client will be in different stage in their recovery journey, so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.
Part of your role will also include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, where you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities.
