Hours: 23 hours per week including weekends
Area: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Rate: £13.00 per hour
We are currently looking to recruit a personal assistant for a lovely older lady who wants to remain independent within her home setting. Kamla is seeking a personal assistant to accompany her to the Gurdwara Temple twice weekly. You must be aware of the cultural expectations and dress code of the Temple and be happy to adhere to the requests. Kamla speaks her native language of Punjabi most of the time but is able to understand some English and family will be available to assist with communication needs and support in the role.
This post requires an experienced personal assistant who can demonstrate the ability to manage and support individuals who have a diagnosis of Dementia. A background knowledge of Dementia is required and an ability to safeguard and encourage independence is essential.
Personal care, domestic duties and support in food preparation is requiring in the role.
Flexibility around hours is essential. A car driver would be advantageous.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
At the time of starting their employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
